Noshiro Golf Country Club

山本郡, Japan

Noshiro Country Club is a seaside course located in Hachinohe, Akita Prefecture, Japan, situated on the coast with views of the Shirakami Mountains. Opened in 1965, the 18-hole layout was designed by renowned architects Hideo Sugimoto and Nobukatsu Marumo. The course spans 6,200 yards from the tees and plays to a par of 72, with a course rating of 69.7. The terrain is characterized by significant elevation changes, with the front nine featuring a mix of uphill and downhill shots. The back nine includes a demanding 560-yard par-5 13th hole and a 410-yard par-4 10th that plays significantly downhill. The course is known for its sandy soil, which provides excellent drainage and allows play to continue even after rain. Designed to offer both accessibility and challenge, the layout allows players to adjust the difficulty based on their tee selections. The course accommodates various playing styles, featuring a mix of short par-3s and long par-5s that test driving accuracy and distance management. The club has a long history in the region, having been a favorite among local golfers since its inception. It operates as a self-guided course without caddies, relying on advanced technology such as one-person carts and automatic tracking caddies to assist players. The facility is closed during the winter months from mid-December to mid-March.
