The 2nd edition of the Pro Am Ugo Coussaud, organized by Win Events at Golf Club de l'Hirondelle. The event takes place on Monday, June 15, 2026, with a reconnaissance round on Sunday, June 14. Teams consist of one PGA professional and three amateur golfers licensed with the French Golf Federation (FFG). The format is a 18-hole Shamble with the two best scores (gross and net) counting. There is no handicap limit; amateurs receive 3/4 of their handicap with a maximum allowance of 24 strokes. The entry fee for external amateurs is €240 TTC, which includes the Pro Am participation, reconnaissance round green fee, starting gifts, breakfast, carts and practice balls, on-course refreshment, lunch after the round, prize presentation, and the professional's prize. Members pay €200 and register directly at the golf club. Registration is limited to 25 teams and closes on Monday, June 8, 2026. The event also includes drive and accuracy contests for men, women, and professionals, with mixed-gender accuracy contest. Located at Chemin de l'Hirondelle in Angoulême, the Golf Club de l'Hirondelle is an 18-hole course set within a 35-hectare urban landscape in the Charente department. The course is characterized by its undulating terrain and wooded areas, positioned to overlook the historic old town of Angoulême. The club, founded in 1953 by a group of industrialists and officially homologated in 1955, originally operated with fewer holes before expanding to its current 18-hole configuration in 2001. This expansion was realized through a partnership between local sports figures, territorial communities, and the city of Angoulême, following earlier attempts in the 1980s that were halted by environmental concerns. The layout is described as demanding and technical, requiring precise shot-making from its members and visitors. The course is situated in a unique urban environment, offering views of the plateau and the city below. The club supports its playing field with extensive practice facilities, including an 11-station covered practice range that allows for year-round training, as well as dedicated chipping and putting greens. The infrastructure also includes a restaurant with a 100-square-meter covered terrace facing the 18th green, providing a social hub for golfers after their round. Competitively, the club is known for its active membership and high-level team play. The club’s golf school is labeled and contributes to a strong competitive structure, with teams participating in national-level regional championships. The club hosts various tournaments throughout the year, including the Grand Prix Angoulême and the Pro Am Ugo Coussaud, while also participating in events such as the BMW Golf Cup. The club’s commitment to environmental stewardship is evidenced by its bronze biodiversity label, achieved through the elimination of pesticides and fungicides since 2022, which has preserved a diverse ecosystem of plant, bird, and butterfly species on the grounds.
