Prairie View Golf Course

Byron, IL, United States

Prairie View Golf Club is located in Byron, Illinois, south of Rockford along Route 2. The course is sculpted from an ancient landscape once inhabited by bison and features a generous layout described as comparable to regional country clubs while maintaining municipal pricing. The course is characterized as a "big course" that combines championship-quality design with accessibility. The facility offers instruction through seasoned professionals who provide customized lessons for golfers of all skill levels. Prairie View has gained recognition in regional competitive golf, hosting tournaments like the Rockford Men's City Golf Championship and serving as the home course for accomplished junior golfers. The property includes the Prairie Grass Pub, a golf and sports-themed venue with food and beverage service, featuring views of the course and an expansive wrap-around deck. Recently, the facility added PrairieFire Golf + Grill, an eight-bay Toptracer-equipped range facility with temperature-controlled indoor-outdoor hitting bays where players hit real golf balls onto a targeted outdoor range with digital feedback technology.
