Black Hawk Golf Course

Beaver Falls, PA, United States

Black Hawk Golf Course was founded in 1929 by R.S. Blackwood and now operates in its 5th generation as one of the top public golf courses in western Pennsylvania. The facility offers 36 holes of golf providing a fair, but challenging test for players of all levels. The Front Eighteen course features 6,114 yards with a par of 72 and a course rating of 68 with a slope rating of 113, while the Back Eighteen course plays to 6,300 yards with a par of 70 and a course rating of 68 with a slope rating of 115. The Front Eighteen course was designed by Smith Blackwood and opened in 1927. Located north of Pittsburgh Airport off I-376 at PA Route 51 in Beaver Falls, the facility features two championship 18-hole layouts with tree-lined, parallel fairways over slightly rolling hills, featuring several water hazards and sand bunkering primarily guarding the greens. The layout covers less than 6,300 yards from the tips, placing emphasis on placement and accuracy rather than driving distance, with challenging distance control due to subtle elevation changes and minimal front bunkers. The greens at Black Hawk are consistently ranked among the top courses in the Tri-State area and are known for their speed and consistency similar to PGA Tour conditions. The signature hole on the second 18 is the par-four fifth hole, measuring 415 yards from the middle tees with a fairway that slopes severely from left to right, followed by a blind shot to the green.
