Katsuragi Golf Club

静岡県, Japan

Located in Fukuroi, Shizuoka, Katsuragi Golf Club features two distinct 18-hole courses designed by renowned architect Seiichi Inoue. The Yamana Course is characterized by its strategic layout surrounded by beautiful tree lines, while the Ugari Course utilizes the gentle, expansive natural hills of the region. Together, the 36 holes offer a diverse experience, with the Yamana Course providing a challenging test for skilled players and the Ugari Course offering a more open, rhythmic flow suitable for a variety of skill levels. The Yamana Course, which has hosted the Yamaha Ladies Open Katsuragi, presents a total yardage of 6,960 yards from the back tees with a par of 72. Its design features a strategic arrangement of ponds and bunkers that tests the player's conquest instincts. The course includes notable long holes such as the 3rd and 18th, which are recommended for driving distance contests. The Ugari Course offers a total yardage of 6,912 yards from the back tees, also with a par of 72. It is designed to emphasize rhythm and accent, with holes that require either bold distance or precise accuracy, set within a generous layout that takes advantage of the rolling terrain. Both courses provide multiple tee options to accommodate different playing styles and abilities. The Yamana Course features bentgrass greens on the back tees, while the Ugari Course also utilizes bentgrass greens for its primary tees. The layout of the Yamana Course includes a mix of par-4s, par-3s, and par-5s, with the front nine covering 3,491 yards and the back nine 3,469 yards. The Ugari Course similarly balances its holes, with the front nine spanning 3,399 yards and the back nine 3,513 yards. The design ensures that players can enjoy a varied round, with specific holes identified for driving distance and proximity to the pin competitions.
