Located in Mikasa, Hyogo Prefecture, Yoshikawa Country Club is an 18-hole, par-72 course set within a hilly landscape featuring a 20-meter elevation change. Opened in October 1992, the course is characterized by wide fairways and gentle undulations, surrounded by a mix of oak, beech, cedar, and cypress trees. The layout offers a variety of hole designs, ranging from slightly sloped to completely flat, allowing for a relaxed playing style while still demanding strategic club selection. The front nine presents a mix of strategic challenges, highlighted by the par-4 6th hole, which serves as the handicap 1 hole. This demanding stretch requires precise fairway placement to avoid bunkers and steep green slopes. The 5th hole, a par-3, is noted as a recommended hole for accurate approach shots, featuring a green that is elevated in the center and surrounded by trees and water hazards. The back nine continues this theme of variety, with the 18th hole serving as a strong finisher. This uphill par-4 is recommended for long hitters, though it requires careful avoidance of left-sided bunkers to secure a good score. Water hazards and trees play a significant role in the course's difficulty. The 8th hole, a par-3, demands a choice between attacking the pin or playing safe to the right, with out-of-bounds to the left and a pond guarding the back right. Similarly, the 11th hole, a long par-5, is flanked by a beautiful pond on the left and large trees on the right, making the second shot a critical test of distance and accuracy. Yoshikawa Country Club operates as a members-only facility, though it is part of the Chateraise Group. The course is accessible via the Chuo Expressway at the Yoshikawa Interchange, located approximately 50 minutes from Osaka. The club hosts regular member competitions throughout the year, including the President's Cup and various monthly tournaments, maintaining a consistent schedule of play across all seasons.
