Sunrise Hills Country Club is a 27-hole facility located in the hilly terrain of Konan and Doigawa, situated in Maniwa Town, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. The course is designed by renowned architect Kazumi Miura and is set against the backdrop of the Azusa Mountains. The layout takes advantage of the natural elevation changes, with the three distinct nine-hole courses positioned at varying altitudes to offer strategic challenges and expansive views. The East Course is laid out at a mid-level elevation and features "orange trees" as its theme trees. This nine is characterized by a mix of powerful shots and precise calculations, with holes alternating between bold demands and strategic nuance. While many greens on this nine are relatively straightforward, players must remain alert for two-tiered greens that add complexity to the approach shots. The Center Course occupies the highest ground and is themed around "plum" and "apricot" trees. The design is marked by individuality, beginning with a rock wall behind the first green. A key feature is the fifth hole, a long par-5 that offers a view of the Zozu Mountain across a red bridge. This nine is known for its strongly contoured greens and requires players to use the wind as an ally, with flat holes leading into challenging putting surfaces. The West Course is situated at the lowest elevation and welcomes players with "calamondin orange" trees. It opens with a long middle hole before transitioning into a series of dramatic holes with varied distances. The greens here are diverse and rich in character, featuring fewer large undulations but demanding respect and attention to detail to avoid trouble. The course utilizes Bentgrass for its playing surfaces.
