1st FRIENDS CUP

The 1st FRIENDS CUP is a 9-hole stableford competition held at Rioja Alta Golf Club on July 19, 2026. The event is open to all amateur golfers with a valid license from the Real Federación Española de Golf or a handicap certificate from an internationally recognized golf federation, with no participation handicap limit. The attribution handicap for results is capped at 26.4 for both men and ladies. Entries can be made by phone at 941 340 895 or through Golfdirecto, with a deadline of 24 hours before the event (July 18, 2026 at 11:00). The entry fee is €17 per couple, which includes a gift courtesy of the RFEG and an introductory golf course. The competition format is 9 holes in a pairs greensomes style: each federated player is paired with a friend who has never played golf, where the experienced player plays from tee to green and the novice handles all putts. Yellow tees for men and red tees for ladies. Buggies are available on a first-come, first-served basis; caddies are not permitted. The event is open to the public and welcomes visiting non-member golfers.
