Golf Club Wümme e.V. is a 27-hole championship-quality golf course founded in 1984, located near Rotenburg (Wümme) in the Lower Saxon lowlands at Hof Emmen between Borchel and Westerholz. The course is set within the serene landscape at the northern edge of the Lüneburg Heath, featuring characteristic elements including small heathland areas, woodland sections, traditional hedgerows (Knicks), and scenic ponds. The layout accommodates both ambitious golfers and beginners, offering considerable challenges through its demanding design while remaining accessible to newcomers. The course is integrated harmoniously into the natural surroundings, allowing golfers to experience the landscape in quiet and peaceful conditions. The 27-hole setup provides variety and replay value for members and visitors. Facilities include extensive practice areas and the on-site Birdie Time restaurant. The club actively supports golf development through instruction programs, youth training, and beginner courses. The course operates under winter management protocols during colder months, utilizing designated winter tees and greens to preserve playing surfaces during frost and rime conditions.
