The course was designed by renowned golf architect Joan Dudok van Heel and opened in 2002, marking his final design project across his 50 European courses. The layout is compact and relatively short at 2,468 meters from the yellow tees, yet presents genuine challenges for all handicap levels. The signature hole is the par 4 first hole, a short but difficult design featuring water hazards and an island green. Set within the scenic landscape of Westerwolde, the course offers an engaging playing experience in a picturesque setting.
