Located in Makushiro, Kakegawa City, Shizuoka Prefecture, the Shizuoka Yomiuri Country Club is a 18-hole, par-72 course designed by Tsuneo Abe and opened in October 1985. The layout measures 6,288 yards from the regular bent tees, with a total yardage of 6,066 yards from the regular Korai tees. The course is divided into an outward nine totaling 3,154 yards and an inward nine measuring 3,134 yards. The front nine features a demanding opening hole, a par-5 measuring 500 yards from the regular bent tees, which is rated as the easiest hole on the course with a handicap of 1. The par-4 holes on the front side vary in length, with the 2nd hole stretching 334 yards and the 4th hole measuring 336 yards. The back nine presents a different challenge, highlighted by the 13th hole, a 511-yard par-5 that serves as the second-difficultest hole on the layout with a handicap of 2. The 16th hole, another par-5, measures 490 yards and carries a handicap of 6. Key scoring opportunities and challenges are distributed throughout the round. The 8th hole is a short par-3 measuring 144 yards from the regular bent tees, ranked as the most difficult hole on the course with a handicap of 17. Conversely, the 11th hole, a 136-yard par-3, is the easiest hole on the back nine with a handicap of 16. The closing holes include the 17th, a 358-yard par-4 with a handicap of 18, and the 18th, a 406-yard par-4 with a handicap of 12. The course is equipped with modern amenities, including a driving range with 10 bays extending 230 yards, as well as separate approach and bunker practice areas. The facility utilizes automatic payment machines and offers a coffee shop open from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM. The club maintains specific dress codes, prohibiting T-shirts, jeans, and sandals during play, and requires collared shirts with tucked-in hems.
