Opened on January 2, 1990, the course was designed by Tadahiko Nui, who also serves as the club's chairman. The facility spans 10,025 yards with a total par of 108, divided into three distinct nine-hole courses: the East, West, and South courses. Each nine plays to a par of 36, with yardages of 3,345, 3,359, and 3,321 yards respectively.
The course is built on hilly terrain and features bentgrass greens, with slope ratings ranging from 127 to 134 and course ratings between 71.4 and 71.8 depending on the combination of nines played. The layout is characterized by strategic design elements that demand accuracy and precision. The East Course is notable for its concentration of water hazards, with ponds strategically placed from the fourth through eighth holes. The West Course features a signature par-3 second hole, a downhill shot with out-of-bounds to the right, and a famous tee shot on the third hole aimed toward the Usugase Mountains. The South Course offers expansive views of the Kanto Plain on several holes, with the fifth hole—a 566-yard downhill par-5—receiving particular acclaim.
Across all 27 holes, the course incorporates seven ponds, with the ninth holes on both the West and South courses featuring dramatic water carries toward the clubhouse. Fairways at Green Park Country Club are marked by subtle undulations and are protected by cross bunkers and guard bunkers throughout the layout. The course requires careful club selection and shot placement, with many holes featuring large, multi-tiered greens that demand precise approach shots. Water hazards and out-of-bounds areas penalize errant shots on numerous holes, including the long par-5 first on the East Course and the par-4 sixth on the South Course where out-of-bounds runs along the right side. The challenging nature of the course is reflected in its high handicap index allocations, with several holes carrying handicap ratings of 1, 2, or 3, indicating their relative difficulty.
The facility operates as a members-only club under the management of Nui Timber Industry Co., Ltd., with membership administered through the Japan Golf Association and the Gunma Golf Association. While the course is primarily a members' facility, visitors are accepted on weekdays with advance reservation, and weekend play requires member sponsorship. The club maintains a 12-bay, 100-yard practice facility and offers both self-play and caddie-assisted rounds with five-person golf carts.
