Wooden Sticks Golf Club is a private 18-hole course located in Uxbridge, Ontario, Canada, designed by architect Ron Garl. The layout is a distinctive blend of eight holes inspired by famous PGA Tour and Open Championship holes and ten original designs. The course features six sets of tees—Oak, Maple, Birch, Pine, Cedar, and Spruce—providing varying lengths and challenges. The total yardage ranges from 3,400 yards on the forward Spruce tees to 5,400 yards on the back Oak tees, with a par of 72 across all configurations. The rating and slope vary by tee, with the Oak tees posting a rating of 74.4 and a slope of 144. The design incorporates replicas of some of the game’s most iconic features. The 11th hole offers two options: 11A, a short par-3 inspired by the "Postage Stamp" at Royal Troon, and 11B, a replica of Troon’s 17th hole, "The Rabbit." The 15th hole mirrors the Road Hole at St. Andrews, complete with a rock wall down the left side, a pot bunker guarding the front left of the green, and a road behind the green. The 17th hole is a replica of the island green at TPC Sawgrass, while the 14th hole draws inspiration from "Hogan’s Alley" at Carnoustie. The 10th and 18th holes share a common fairway and feature large greens, embodying the trademarks of the Swilcan Burn, the Palmer Bridge, and the "Valley of Sin" from St. Andrews. Several other holes feature design elements from renowned courses. Holes 9, 12, 13, and 16 incorporate the waste bunker design of Pine Valley. The 1st hole features a "Church Pew" bunker copied from Oakmont, and holes 3 and 4 are inspired by Augusta National’s "Amen Corner." The course is situated in a landscape that allows golfers to envision playing off a road in Scotland, across a creek in Georgia, onto an island in Florida, and through pine forests in New Jersey. The design aims to capture the spirit of the game’s history, blending British links-style architecture with North American design elements.
