The Rhune Championship by Golf Plus is a series of individual Simple Stableford qualifier rounds held throughout 2026 at Makila Golf Club, culminating in a final on Saturday, 10 October 2026. The round on Sunday, 19 July 2026 is one of the qualifying dates. The competition is open to all golfers (visitors and members). Entry is limited to 81 participants per round. For club members, the entry fee is €10. Visitors must pay the standard green fee plus the €10 competition fee (total €75 for visitors). Inscriptions are processed online via the club's website. Participants must hold a valid FFGolf license and a valid medical certificate. The competition is played as a Simple Stableford format. Start times are communicated 48 hours before the event. Dress code: correct attire required; jeans, t-shirts, tank tops, city shorts, and baggys are prohibited for men. Correct attire also required for the prize-giving. Cadets must wear appropriate attire and are not allowed to wear metal spikes. The final prize-giving takes place on Saturday, 10 October 2026, after the final round, during a drinks and canapés hosted by Golf Plus Anglet. There are 5 distinct classifications: Stakhanovism (cumulative gross + net points), Assiduity (best 6 net scores), Performance (eclectic gross score), Index Progression, and Opportunism (final day results). Prizes are awarded to winners in each classification, with a total of 20 trophies. Non-members can enter online. The event is open to international federations' license holders with a valid medical certificate.

Makila Golf Club is an 18-hole championship course located in Bassussarry, near Bayonne in the Basque Country, approximately 10 minutes from Biarritz's beaches. Designed by American architect Rocky Roquemore, the course stretches 5,646 meters at par 72 and is set within a natural landscape of century-old oak trees and rolling, forested terrain. The course features wide fairways interspersed with water hazards, numerous bunkers, and distinctive hole designs that accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The setting provides dramatic views of the Rhune mountain and the Pyrenees, creating an idyllic backdrop for play. The course's varied hole designs and generous fairways make it accessible while maintaining character and challenge. The club offers motorized buggy access to enhance playability throughout the year without excessive fatigue. Additional facilities include a practice area, pro shop, and clubhouse restaurant with panoramic views overlooking the course. The golf club operates year-round and hosts various competitions, including the Championnat de la Rhune tournament.
