Kawanakajima Country Club is an 18-hole golf course located in Nagano City, Nagano Prefecture, Japan, situated at 5292 Arutabi, Shinano, Nagano City. The facility features two distinct 18-hole layouts, designated as the East Course and the West Course. The course is positioned on the Zenkoji Plain, offering expansive views of the historic Kawanakushima battlefield. The setting provides panoramic vistas of the Asama and Shiga Kogen mountain ranges to the east, and the Togakushi and Northern Alps mountain ranges to the west. The course design incorporates specific local rules and hazard definitions for both layouts. Out-of-bounds areas on the East Course are defined by white stakes, with specific boundaries between the third and fourth holes, and between the fifth and sixth holes. The West Course shares boundary lines with the East Course, particularly between the first and eighth holes, and includes distinct out-of-bounds zones between the third and fourth holes, as well as the fifth and sixth holes. Penalty areas are marked with yellow or red stakes and lines, while repair areas for abnormal course conditions are indicated by blue stakes and white lines. Cart and maintenance roads allow for drop relief on the fairway side, and ruts created by course maintenance are treated as abnormal course conditions, though stance-only interference is not considered a valid obstruction. Kawanakajima Country Club offers a range of facilities including a clubhouse with a pro shop, restaurant, and two competition rooms seating 40 and 16 guests respectively. The property features extensive locker rooms for men, accommodating up to 250 members, and for women, with 42 spots. Amenities include a lounge, cafe, and bathing facilities. A practice range with 15 bays is available, utilizing a coin-operated ball system. The course hosts various events and competitions, with local rules and schedules published annually for club play.
