Shiroyama Golf Club

兵庫県, Japan

Shiroyama Golf Club is an 18-hole course located in Kakogawa City, Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, situated just five minutes from the Kakogawa Kita Interchange on the Sanyo Expressway. The layout is described as strategically demanding, featuring a mix of uphill and downhill holes that challenge golfers with varied terrain and specific hazard placements. The course includes distinct front and back nine sections, with yardages varying by tee box for regular and ladies' play. The front nine presents a series of strategic challenges, starting with the 389-yard par-4 first hole, which requires a precise drive to avoid bunkers on the right while navigating greenside hazards. The second hole is a 521-yard par-5 that plays uphill from a tee box featuring an island in a pond, with a large cherry tree serving as a key target for the initial shot. The third hole is a shorter 280-yard par-4 where an OB line on the right and immediate OB behind the green penalizes errant shots. The fourth hole offers a 158-yard downhill par-3 with a large green, while the fifth is a 364-yard par-4 that doglegs right, requiring players to navigate a valley to reach the green. The sixth hole is a notable 180-yard par-3 known for its difficulty, featuring a two-tiered green shaped like a "k" character and a grass bunker guarding the front. This hole is considered a signature challenge due to the complex green contours and the risk of overshooting the green to the left. The course design emphasizes strategic shot-making, with bunkers, OB lines, and undulating greens playing significant roles in scoring. Tournament activity at Shiroyama Golf Club includes the annual KOBELCO Open, scheduled for July 2026, as well as various corporate competitions and seasonal events throughout the year. The club maintains a focus on competitive play and member events, hosting regular competitions that attract local and regional golfers. The facility is positioned to serve both serious competitors and recreational players seeking a course that tests accuracy and strategy over pure distance.
