The 13 Moons Golf Tournament is a team scramble event held at Black Bear Golf Course in Carlton, MN on August 14, 2026, with a shotgun start at 9:00 a.m. Entry is $360 per team of four players, which includes green fees, cart, and lunch. The format is a unique scramble where two players from each team play with two players from another team, and the other two players from the team play with two players from a different team; the two scramble scores are added together for the final team score. Optional side games include a team skins game ($50/team), a 50/50 raffle, a #11 par 3 game, a #7 Bear Paw Drop, and a #16 Move Up Shot. There is a Hole-in-One contest with $13,000 cash for the first hole in one, plus cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. Donations from the event support the 13 Moons 2027 Gichi Manidoo Giizis Powwow Traditional Feast. The first 26 paid teams will be accepted. The 6,560-yard, par-72 Black Bear Golf Course winds through scenic northern forests and spring-fed ponds. Designed by Robert D Graves, the Black Bear golf course opened in 2003. The course is located in northern Minnesota at the junction of I-35 and Highway 210 in Carlton, MN. Lush bluegrass and newly expanded rye fairways lead to the area's finest bentgrass greens. The course rating is 72.2 and it has a slope rating of 142. The course offers four sets of tee boxes for golfers of all abilities along with the benefits of GPS system-equipped golf carts. Water borders wooded, tree-lined fairways on 14 of the 18 holes, with attractive flower and flowering shrub gardens and pagodas throughout the course and decent elevation change adding to both challenge and attractiveness. The facility features a driving range or three practice greens. The clubhouse includes a fully stocked Pro Shop and a full service snack bar complemented by a spacious deck overlooking the course. Black Bear Casino Resort offers golfing, gaming action, lodging, dining and conference/meeting space.
