The Flag Race (Course au Drapeau) is a single strokeplay competition held at Golf de Noas on Saturday, 1 August 2026, starting at 08:00. Each player uses a personalised flagstick, which is planted on the course at the location of their ball after they have exhausted all their strokes. The total score is calculated for each player by adding their playing handicap to par 60 for the 18 holes. If a player still has strokes remaining after completing the 18 holes, they continue playing from the 1st hole. The winner is the player whose flagstick is planted furthest from the hole. Entries can be made online via GolfNoas.ch or at the Noas clubhouse chalet. The entry fee is CHF 20 plus a CHF 35 green fee. Registrations are accepted until 11:00 the day before the competition, subject to availability. The prize-giving takes place at the Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierre from 18:30 with a cocktail. All golfers who know the rules of golf may participate; beginners must be placed in a flight with at least one experienced player.

Golf de Noas

Valais/Wallis, Switzerland

Golf de Noas is a nine-hole public golf course located in Chermignon-d'en-Bas in the Valais region of Switzerland. The course is situated in a mountain setting, described on the site as a "9 trous de montagne" (9-hole mountain course). It operates as a public facility open to all players, including those without a handicap, and serves as a venue for local competitions and member play. The course layout consists of nine holes, designed to accommodate a variety of skill levels. The facility includes a practice zone for players to work on their skills before playing. The club emphasizes accessibility, allowing beginners to prepare for official handicaps and improve their rules knowledge, while more experienced golfers can refine their short game. The philosophy of the club is to provide a friendly environment where golfers can play on a full course rather than relying solely on driving ranges. Golf de Noas hosts a regular schedule of competitions, including stroke play events like the Golf Eclectic and match play tournaments such as the Mémorial Léonce Pralong. The course also hosts events for other clubs, such as the Golf Club Crans-sur-Sierres, and participates in local cups like the Coupe AXA. These competitions often utilize shotgun starts to bring all participants together, fostering a communal atmosphere among players. The course is managed by Golf de Noas SA, which organizes general assemblies and maintains a committee to oversee operations. The facility features a reception chalet and provides access to local rules and scorecards for players. The course is open to the public, with greenfees available for non-members, and maintains a presence through a webcam and social media channels to update visitors on conditions and closures.
