Obatagou Golf Club, officially known as Obatako Golf Club, is an 18-hole, par 72 course located in Takaoka, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The course is situated in a hilly landscape surrounded by the Asama Mountain and the Jomo Three Mountains (Akagi, Myogi, and Haruna), offering views that change with the seasons. It is a JLPGA-certified course, one of only about 20 in Japan and two in Gunma Prefecture to hold this designation, having hosted women's professional tournaments. The layout is characterized by undulating terrain and strategic variety, with the front nine described as slightly narrower and requiring careful shot placement, while the back nine is wider and encourages more aggressive play. The course features a mix of flat and sloping lies, with specific challenges such as the 6th hole, a 141-yard par 3 with a three-tiered green, and the 14th, a 162-yard par 3 that is a downhill carry over a valley. The 15th hole, a 487-yard par 5, is noted for its length and strategic options. Obatagou Golf Club is located at 1535 Obatako, Takaoka-machi, Kanna-gun, Gunma 370-2202. The club features a traditional-style clubhouse and a pond with koi carp. The course total yardage is 3,072 yards from the regular tees, with a par of 72. The handicap index ranges from 1 to 18 across the holes.
