Omama Golf Club is a 72-par, 18-hole course located in Omama, Gunma Prefecture, Japan. The layout is accessible from the Kita-Kanto Expressway via the Ota-Yabuzuka or Isesaki Interchanges, approximately 18 kilometers away. The course features a total yardage of 6,567 yards from the regular tees, with a par 72 configuration that includes four par-3s, eight par-4s, and six par-5s. The front nine plays for a par of 36, while the back nine also totals 36, providing a balanced challenge for golfers of varying skill levels. The course design incorporates several distinct features, including water hazards and out-of-bounds areas. Local rules designate all ponds and creeks as lateral water hazards marked by red stakes, while out-of-bounds is indicated by white stakes. The layout includes specific driving contest holes, with the 2nd and 15th holes recommended for distance challenges, and nearest-pin contests are suggested for the 6th and 16th holes. The 6th hole is a demanding 185-yard par-3, while the 15th hole presents a longer 515-yard par-5 challenge. The course also features a driving range and putting green for practice. Omama Golf Club hosts regular weekly events, including a Wednesday half-compe using the New Peria format for the front nine holes. The club also organizes special tournaments throughout the year, such as the Sea's Day Cup in July and the Omama Cup in September. A major annual event is the 9th Anniversary Cup, held in October, which features a shotgun start, unlimited drinks, and a barbecue. The club has a history of hosting these events, with past tournaments attracting over 160 participants and offering various prizes to winners. The facility includes a restaurant offering a variety of lunch and party menus, including local specialties like Yokkaichi Tonkatsu and homemade croquettes. The club provides a self-service system for golfers, where players drop their bags at a designated area near the clubhouse and load their carts themselves. The course enforces a ban on sub-bags to protect the turf and ensure safety. Amenities include an AED for emergencies and a club bus service from Akagi and Kiryu stations for those without cars.
