Kirin Beer Cup - a popular open competition held at Fujieda Golf Club on August 20, 2026. This manufacturer-sponsored open competition is open to individual golfers, with booking available from a single player. Entry can be made via web or phone. The event includes a meal and a participation prize for all entrants. There is no awards ceremony; results will be communicated to all participants by post or similar means. Self-play format. Member fee: 10,130 yen (tax included); Visitor fee: 12,950 yen (tax included). Fujieda Golf Club local rules apply. Men play from white tees (gold tees available for men aged 70 and over). Women play from red tees (pink tees also available for women aged 80 and over).

Fujieda Golf Club is a 27-hole facility located in Fujieda, Shizuoka Prefecture, designed by renowned architect Chohei Miyazawa. The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: the North, West, and East courses. The layout is characterized by undulating fairways and strategic positioning that demands precise shot-making, with the North Course generally noted as the most challenging of the three. The North Course begins with a downhill par-4 and features the North 2nd hole, described as the most difficult hole on the entire property. This par-4 requires distance and accuracy, with a narrow fairway and a raised green that makes par challenging from the back tees. The course also includes a par-5 4th hole with a creek guarding the green, and a 3rd hole that offers two green complexes with varying levels of difficulty. While the North Course is the shortest of the three loops, its technical demands allow for big scores if players manage their positioning effectively. The West Course is designed for players who wish to drive the ball freely, starting with a long par-5 that offers a clear path for powerful shots. The layout features several holes where aggressive driving is rewarded, such as the 5th hole, which is recommended for long hitters. However, the course also contains traps for the overconfident, including the 4th hole, a difficult par-4 that ranks among the toughest on the West loop. The 6th hole offers views of Mount Fuji on clear days and presents a decision between a safe dogleg approach or a risky shortcut over the corner. The East Course is the most penal for errant drives, with narrow fairways and severe slopes that punish misses. The 2nd hole is a demanding uphill par-4 that is second only to the North 2nd in difficulty. The 1st hole is a long par-5 with a leftward slope that pushes players toward the right side, where thick rough awaits those who miss the fairway. The 3rd hole is a short, downhill par-4 that rewards aggressive players who can navigate the shallow OB line on the right. Across all three loops, the course relies heavily on the natural terrain, with raised greens and undulating lies that test every aspect of a golfer's game.
