Rembrandt Golf Club Gotemba is an 18-hole, par-72 course located in Gotemba, Shizuoka Prefecture, at an elevation of 400 meters. Designed by Hideo Takeuchi and constructed by Kajima Corporation, the layout is divided into the Fuji Course for the outward nine and the Suruga Course for the inward nine. The terrain is characterized by relatively gentle undulations and wide fairways that slope gradually from the tees, allowing for aggressive driving shots. The course offers expansive views of Mount Fuji and the Suruga Bay, which are visible from most holes depending on the weather and season. The Fuji Course is generally longer and features holes where the green is often visible from the tee box, encouraging players to attack the course with distance. The Suruga Course is slightly shorter in total yardage but demands more strategic ball control, with holes that require precision over raw power. The layout includes a mix of par-3, par-4, and par-5 holes, with the back tees stretching the course to 6,424 yards and a course rating of 69.6. The front tees offer a more accessible length for ladies and higher handicap players. Key challenges on the course include the narrow landing areas and shallow out-of-bounds zones that define several holes. The sixth hole on the Fuji Course is noted as the most demanding mid-length hole, featuring an uphill second shot that requires careful club selection. The eighth hole on the Suruga Course presents a downhill par-4 with a view of Mount Aika, where accuracy off the tee is crucial to avoid the numerous out-of-bounds areas. The seventh hole on the Suruga Course is a short par-3 that plays downhill into a green protected by a front bunker and shallow out-of-bounds to the rear. The course is equipped with modern amenities, including remote-controlled electromagnetic induction carts that allow players to focus on their game without the physical burden of pushing or pulling a trolley. These carts feature GPS navigation, displaying distances, elevation changes, and green slopes, along with a radio communication system for direct contact with the master room. This technology assists players in managing their strategy and handling any on-course accidents or inquiries efficiently. Rembrandt Golf Club Gotemba has a history of hosting competitive events, including the annual Rembrandt Open, which has been held for over 40 years. The course also serves as a venue for the Shizuoka Ladies Championship, a charity golf tournament. These events highlight the course's suitability for competitive play and its standing within the local golfing community. The club's proximity to the Tomei Expressway and its integration with nearby hotel facilities make it a convenient destination for both local and visiting golfers.
