The Utsunomiya Country Club is a 27-hole facility located in Utsunomiya, Tochigi Prefecture, Japan. Opened in 1961, the course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops: the North Course, the Center Course, and the South Course. Each loop is designed to be played as a complete nine, offering a total of 27 holes with a combined par of 108. The club is situated approximately seven minutes from the Utsunomiya Interchange, providing easy access for golfers in the region. The North Course features a back tee total of 3,316 yards and a par of 36. It is characterized by a mix of long par-5s and technical par-4s, with the 4th and 6th holes identified as drivers-only holes, while the 3rd and 7th are recommended for approach play. The Center Course, playing 3,292 yards from the back tees, presents a different challenge with its 8th hole stretching to 510 yards. This loop highlights precision on the 3rd and 5th holes, while the 6th and 8th favor long hitters. The South Course offers 3,184 yards from the back tees and includes a unique 4th hole that measures only 124 yards from the back tees, a par-3 that stands in contrast to the 9th hole, which extends to 573 yards. The course layout demands a versatile game, with specific holes designated for either distance or accuracy depending on the player's strategy. The South Course's 9th hole is the longest on the property, requiring significant distance, while the short 4th hole on the same loop tests accuracy and short-game control. The Center Course's 8th hole also requires long distance, whereas the 3rd and 5th holes on that loop are recommended for approach shots. These distinct characteristics allow the club to cater to various skill levels, with multiple tee boxes available for each hole to adjust the difficulty. Utsunomiya Country Club has a history of hosting internal tournaments, including the UCC Cup and the Silver Cup. The club celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2021 with a commemorative golf tournament. The facility maintains a traditional atmosphere, emphasizing the history and style associated with its long-standing presence in Japanese golf. The course design ensures that each nine-hole loop provides a complete and challenging experience, with specific holes standing out for their unique yardage and strategic requirements.
