Chiba Isumi Golf Club is a 27-hole facility located in Ota, Isumi District, Chiba Prefecture, set within a rolling hilly landscape spanning 148 hectares. The course was designed under the supervision of Kozo Yasuda and Shiro Kawamura, with the East and South courses opening in August 1979 and the West course following a decade later in August 1989. The layout is built on a philosophy of straight driving, featuring wide fairways that average 40 meters in width to encourage distance and accuracy. The total yardage for the 27 holes is 11,008 yards with a par of 108. The course is divided into three distinct nine-hole loops. The East Course begins with a gentle downsloping par 4 and is characterized by a challenging finish, where the uphill stretch of the 7th par 5, 8th par 4, and 9th par 5 serves as the key to scoring. The South Course opens with long par 5 holes and includes moderate ups and downs that test a player's mental fortitude. Its signature hole is the 7th, a par 3 that requires a 90-yard carry over a valley, making wind reading essential for par saves. The West Course, added in 1989, offers a flatter, more expansive layout where hazards are strategically placed to vary the approach based on the tee box used. The 6th hole on the West Course is noted for its scenic beauty during the autumn foliage season. Chiba Isumi Golf Club holds a high course rating, with the South and West combination achieving a rating of 75.7 from the Champion tees, the highest in Chiba Prefecture. The course utilizes both Old Bentgrass and the newer DC-1 Bentgrass varieties for its greens, which were transitioned to in September 2024. The facility manages a total of 148 hectares (450,000 tsubo) of land, providing ample space for its three loops. The club is affiliated with the Japan Golf Association (JGA), the Kanto Golf Association (KGA), and the Nippon Golf & Country Club Association (NGK).
