The Himawari (Sunflower) Competition is a weekly open competition held at Saint Asahikawa Golf Club on Mondays and Fridays at 8:00 AM. The event is open to all visitors and non-members. The format is 18 holes strokeplay using the club's local rules. Handicap calculation uses the double par-3 (W-Pelia) system with a 3-over cut. Tee selection: Men play from White tees (Silver for players 70+, Red for players 80+); Women play from Red tees (Pink for players 70+). Ties are broken by handicap, then gender, then date of birth (older player ranks higher). A near-pin contest is held for groups starting on the inward nine at holes 12 and 16.
