Duddingston Golf Course

Edinburgh, Edinburgh, Scotland

Duddingston Golf Club is a parkland course established in 1895, located at the foot of Arthur's Seat in Edinburgh, Scotland, just 10 minutes from the city centre. Originally designed by Willie Park Jr. and updated by James Braid, the course is nestled within the Duke of Abercorn's deer park. The course features challenging layout with mature trees, a burn, and undulating greens with run-offs. Notable characteristics include beautiful open fairways with stunning views of the Firth of Forth and Arthur's Seat, particularly from the 13th hole, which features an iconic temple. The back nine is especially demanding, with significant elevation changes and blind tee-shots requiring strategic play. Described as one of the most outstanding parkland courses in the Lothians, Duddingston suits golfers of all standards but particularly challenges low handicappers. The course is complemented by a recently refurbished clubhouse with bar and restaurant, a fully stocked pro shop, and indoor golf simulator facilities. The greens' undulating nature and pace, combined with wind conditions, add to the overall difficulty of the layout.
