Newbridge Golf Club

County Kildare, Ireland

Newbridge Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located in Barrettstown, County Kildare, Ireland, designed by Pat Suttle and opened in 1995. The course is distinguished by its extensive tree planting, featuring over 40,000 trees including Japanese larch, cedars of Lebanon, and Norwegian maple, creating a calm, wooded atmosphere. Wildlife including herons, moorhens, kingfishers, and wild ducks inhabit the course. The layout presents varied challenges across its holes. The front nine is dominated by views of the Hill of Allen, while the third and sixth holes navigate around the Bog of Allen. The turn features particularly demanding holes with water hazards being a significant strategic element, coming into play on thirteen holes throughout the course. This makes accuracy essential for scoring success. The course provides a fair test for both low and high handicappers, balancing accessibility with genuine challenge. After play, visitors can enjoy the clubhouse bar and restaurant, which offers panoramic views of the course, particularly the first and tenth tee boxes and twelfth green.
