The Spark Golf League is a 9-hole social golf league held at Crystal Springs Golf Course on Thursdays at 5:00 PM. The 2026 season runs from April 23 through September 3, 2026. The league is open to everyone with no handicap required; Spark provides handicaps for all players. Participants can join as a single player or as part of a 2-person team, with singles being paired with a partner if needed. Rounds cost $42 per round plus $15 for a cart. Players enter their gross scores into the Spark app, which calculates net scores based on provided handicaps. The team game uses a net best ball format where the better of the two team members' net scores counts for each hole. An individual net score game also runs concurrently. The league features relaxed rules including max scores per hole, gimmed putts within 3 feet, and penalty drops for lost balls or out-of-bounds. Singles and team winners are recognized at the end of the season. Registration is available online via the Spark Golf app or website up to each round's deadline.

Crystal Springs Golf Course, situated near Crystal Springs Reservoir in Hillsborough, California, is a par-72 championship course designed by renowned British architect William Herbert Fowler in 1924. The course spans 6,628 yards and represents Fowler's philosophy of integrating golf seamlessly with natural landscape features rather than relying on manmade contrivances. The course maintains well-bunkered greens and rolling hillsides that provide strategic challenges across all skill levels. From the blue tees, it plays at 6,550 yards with a slope rating of 131, offering substantial difficulty. Multiple tee options accommodate golfers of varying abilities, with forward tees providing more manageable play. Originally established in 1888 as a water supply reservoir for San Francisco, the golf course was added to the property in 1924. The layout features gentle slopes toward the reservoir, creating scenic vistas throughout the round. Fowler's design has undergone minimal modifications over the decades, preserving his original vision of a course that uses topography to test golfers. The course hosts various tournaments including the Peninsula Amateur Golf Tournament and Women On Course at Crystal Springs, alongside junior and senior club programs.
