The 36th Annual Danbury Amateur is a two-day individual strokeplay tournament held at Richter Park Golf Course on July 18-19, 2026. The event is open to amateur golfers with a GHIN handicap required. Entry fee is $275.00, which includes cart, green fees for both days, lunch, and a registration gift. The tournament features flighted competition based on handicap index. Day One (Saturday) serves as a qualifier where the low 48 indexes (excluding Senior Men) compete in a Championship Flight Qualifier from the Blue tees. The low 24 and ties (or those within 10 shots of the lead) advance to the Men's Championship Flight on Day Two; others are placed in the Men's First Flight. All other competitors are placed in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and Senior Men's Flights (maximum 30 players per flight) from the White tees. On Day Two (Sunday), the Men's Championship Flight plays from the Black tees, the Men's First Flight from the Blue tees, and remaining Men's Flights from the White tees. Ladies compete in Championship and other flights from the Gold and Red tees respectively. The overall winner comes from the Championship Flight. Prizes include over $4,500 in Golf Shop prize pool. Registration deadline is July 11, 2026. No refunds are issued once registered.

Richter Park Golf Course is an 18-hole, Par 71 public course designed by Edward Ryder, located in Danbury, Connecticut. The scenic layout features water hazards that come into play on 14 of the 18 holes, creating a challenging experience for golfers. The course is characterized by undulating fairways composed of a Blue/Rye grass mix and Bent/Poa greens that are well-protected by 49 newly renovated bunkers strategically positioned throughout. Four sets of tees accommodate golfers of all skill levels. The course is recognized as a premier public facility in the Tri-state area, offering a competitive test of golf with its strategic water placement and strategic bunkering. Richter Park hosts tournaments including the 36th Annual Danbury Amateur and accommodates corporate outings and charity fundraising events.
