The Walker Putter is an open individual strokeplay competition for men aged 18 and over, held annually on the first Saturday in August at Irvine Golf Club. Players must hold a current WHS handicap with a maximum limit of 28. The event is played as one round of medal play (strokeplay) from the White tees. Entry is available online via HowDidiDo, with booking closing on 24 July 2026. The visitor entry fee is £25.00. The competition is open to visiting non-member golfers.

Irvine Golf Club is a championship links course located on Scotland's west coast in Ayrshire, approximately 25 miles south of Glasgow. Situated in Irvine Bay between the River Irvine and River Garnock, the course benefits from its seaside setting and the moderating influence of the Gulf Stream, providing year-round playing conditions. The landscape features the romantic peaks of Arran as a backdrop. The course was designed by legendary architect James Braid and is highly regarded by the R&A. It has hosted final qualifying rounds for the Open Championship when the major is held at nearby Royal Troon or Trump Turnberry, along with numerous amateur and professional tournaments. Golf has been played in the area since the 17th century, and the club maintains historic exhibits including medals, trophies, equipment, and memorabilia documenting its rich heritage. The championship-caliber links course is steeped in history and offers a memorable golfing experience representative of classic Scottish golf.
