The Perämeri Cup Open 2026 is a four-round golf series held at Virpiniemi Golf (June 16), Raahentienoo Golf (July 3), Green Zone Golf (July 22), and Kemi Golf (August 9 final). This event is the third round at Green Zone Golf on July 22, 2026. The competition uses stableford scoring across four categories: Men & Women, Veterans (men 65+ and women 65+), Men from yellow tees with seniors 55-70 from blue tees (yellow at the final), and Women and Veterans from red tees. The three best results from the four rounds count toward the final standings. Prize money: 70€ (1st), 50€ (2nd), 30€ (3rd) per round; category prizes of 300€, 200€, 100€; and 150€ for the best male and female scratch players (minimum 3 rounds). The final awards ceremony is held August 9 in Kemi. Entry fee: 60€ per round for visitors (includes lunch and green fee), 25€ for members with playing rights. Registration via Gamebook, closing July 20 at 12:00. Joint tee-off at 10:00, competition info at the club from 09:20. Bus transport available from Tornio and Kemi to Virpiniemi and Raahen rounds (max 40 passengers, register with Jussi Rimpisalo).

Green Zone Golf is an 18-hole golf course uniquely positioned on the Sweden-Finland border near Tornio, straddling two countries and two time zones. The course features 11 holes on the Swedish/Haparanda side and 7 holes on the Finnish/Tornio side, allowing players to hit shots across international boundaries and over time zone lines. The course is notable for its extraordinary geographical setting, offering players the distinctive experience of golfing across two nations within a single round. Hole 6 is recognized as the site of the world's longest potential hole-in-one due to its unique positioning relative to the time zone difference. The midnight sun phenomenon during midsummer enables around-the-clock play during peak season. The course also operates a Par 3 practice course and maintains the Meri-Lapin Golf Hall, an indoor facility with three simulators located in Lappi. The main clubhouse, Green Zone Bistro, provides dining services, and the course accommodates tournaments and events throughout the season. Its distinctive bi-national character and extreme latitude location make it one of the world's most unusual golf venues.
