Woodenbridge Golf Course

Woodenbridge Golf Club is an 18-hole Par 71 parkland course (Par 72 for ladies) designed by Patrick Merrigan. Located in the Vale of Avoca near Arklow, County Wicklow, the course is characterized by its scenic riverside setting, with the Avoca and Aughrim rivers coming into play on ten holes, providing challenges for players of all handicaps. The course spans 6,341 yards from the back tees with multiple tee options. Notable holes include the 437-yard par 4 sixth, the par 3s at holes 8 and 17 described as stunning but dangerous, and the impressive par 5 eighteenth hole. The closing holes are known for significantly impacting scoring opportunities. The men's course record stands at 65, set by Jay Stafford in August 2022. The ladies' record of 67 is held by Louise Mernagh (2007) and was equalled by professional golfer Leona Maguire in 2009. The course features colour-coded pin positions and maintains seasonal local rules posted on the notice board.
