Golfanlage Klagenfurt-Seltenheim

Klagenfurt am Wörthersee, Kärnten, Austria

The Championship Course at Golfanlage Klagenfurt-Seltenheim is an 18-hole par 72 course designed by renowned architect Perry O'Day and established in 1996. Located in Klagenfurt-Wölfnitz, Austria at 462 meters elevation, the course combines characteristics of Scottish links golf with sporting greens and scenic rough terrain. Water features prominently throughout all 18 holes, creating a challenging yet fair layout with generally generous landing zones. The most notable hole is the spectacular par 3 eighth—an island green measuring 131 meters from the tee that has yielded two holes-in-one to club pro Martin Wiegele, who also holds the course record of 62 strokes. The course operates seasonally from March through November and offers multiple tee options accommodating varying skill levels. From the championship white tees, the course plays to 6,319 meters with a rating of 73.7/134. The layout features balanced distribution of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, with strategic water placement demanding precision throughout. The course maintains competitive standards while remaining accessible to players of all handicap levels.
