The 2026 Aurora City Golf Championship is a 36-hole flighted medal play (strokeplay) tournament for amateur men only, held at Phillips Park Golf Course in Aurora, IL. The event spans two days: July 18 and July 19, 2026, with tee times beginning at 6:30 a.m. Flights are established after the completion of Round 1, and Round 2 pairings are re-paired by flight, with the Championship Flight teeing off last. Players compete within their assigned flight for a 36-hole total to determine the champion. The field is limited to the first 100 golfers. Entry fee is $60 plus greens fee, with payouts issued in gift certificates. The entry deadline is Thursday, July 9 at 5 p.m. Registration is available via a downloadable form sent to schmidtj@aurora.il.us or by calling the proshop at (630) 256-3760.

Phillips Park maintains an active tournament schedule, hosting the annual City Golf Championship along with various scramble competitions and special events like Hard Course Day at the Park. The facility accommodates multiple leagues including Tuesday evening men's 9-hole, women's, and senior men's leagues. Beyond golf, the clubhouse provides a pro shop stocked with brand-name equipment and apparel, and an indoor simulator for year-round play. The on-site Tap n Grill restaurant serves food and beverages. The course participates in the Audubon Sanctuary Program and offers memberships, PGA instruction, club fitting services, and a Youth on Course program.
