Ifield Golf and Country Club

Ifield, West Sussex, England

A mature parkland golf course founded in 1927, Ifield Golf Club lies on the west side of Crawley, Sussex. Designed by the same architects responsible for the redesign of Royal Birkdale that same year, the course measures 6,319 yards and plays to a par 70. The layout consists of two loops of nine holes and has remained largely unaltered over its nearly century-long history, preserving its original character and challenge. The course was originally described as "as close to the ideal of inland golf as a parkland course could possibly be," offering a complete test of modern golf architecture. Set within a mature parkland setting, Ifield provides much the same examination of golf as it did when established, with the course retaining its established design principles and strategic demands. The relatively modest yardage and par rating belie the comprehensive challenge presented across the routing, making it one of the most respected and established parkland courses in Sussex.
