Bognor Regis Golf Club is an 18-hole course designed by the renowned James Braid and constructed by FG Hawtree. Stretching approximately 6,100 yards with a par of 72, the course features a rating of 70.60 and slope of 125 from the men's white tees. The layout exemplifies Braid's classic design principles, including four distinct short holes, two very long holes, strategic carries from the tee, and an absence of bunkers directly fronting greens. The back nine concludes with three substantial holes to provide a challenging finish. The course incorporates natural water features, including the River Rife, which comes into play on several holes, particularly holes 3 and 9. Characteristic hazards include well-positioned bunkers and ditches that demand accuracy from tee to green. The terrain presents varied challenges of position, length, and required carries. Notable holes include the par 5 ninth, where the river forces a lengthy approach, and the 11th hole, considered the course's most difficult. The finishing hole presents a demanding par 4 with out-of-bounds down the left side and a downhill second shot to a deceptive green. The course balances difficulty with playability, offering strategic options that reward both aggressive and conservative play across its varied hole configurations.
