Venue

Golfclub Budersand

Schleswig-Holstein, Germany

Golfclub Budersand is Germany's only true links course, located on the island of Sylt near Hörnum. The 18-hole championship layout features 96 characteristic pot bunkers set among dramatic sand dunes with views of the Wadden Sea and North Sea. The course follows the Scottish and Irish links tradition, with naturally drained sandy fairways and fast greens that present different challenges depending on weather conditions. Relatively short distances between greens and tees maintain a relaxed playing pace, with tee times scheduled at 12-minute intervals. The course is beginner-friendly in ideal conditions but presents a formidable test for experienced players in harsh weather, as true links courses play differently each visit. The terrain is characterized by beach grass, heather, gorse, and wild roses, with minimal trees or fixed landmarks. Golfclub Budersand has received recognition as Germany's most popular golf course in 2025 according to Golf Magazin Travel Awards. The facility accommodates tournaments for up to 80 participants and welcomes guests with appropriate handicaps seven days per week.
