Port Glasgow Golf Club

Inverclyde, Scotland

Port Glasgow Golf Club, designed by the renowned architect James Braid, was founded in 1895 as a 9-hole course before expanding to its current 18-hole layout in 1920. The course plays to par 64, offering a compact yet challenging layout characteristic of Scottish golf courses of that era. Located in Port Glasgow, the course has established itself as a fixture in the local golfing community, hosting regular open competitions and welcoming both members and visitors. The club maintains active fixtures and competitions throughout the year, including winter league play and seasonal open competitions. The course benefits from Braid's design expertise, known for creating strategic layouts that challenge golfers of various skill levels while remaining playable. At par 64, Port Glasgow presents an accessible yet engaging test of golf, making it suitable for a range of abilities. The club provides full facilities for members and visitors, with a clubhouse lounge available for private events and functions. Port Glasgow Golf Club continues to operate as a traditional members' club while maintaining an active schedule of competitive play and social events for the wider golfing community.
