Wick Golf Club is a traditional links course located in Caithness at the far north of the Scottish Highlands, established as the oldest golf club on the NC500 route. The course was designed by John Sutherland, Secretary of Royal Dornoch Golf Club, who extended it from 9 to 18 holes during 1907-1908. Sutherland famously used his golf clubs to measure hole lengths, relying on his expert knowledge of distance capabilities with each club. The club celebrated its 150th anniversary in 2020. The course is situated on Reiss Links and features a traditional links layout characteristic of Scottish coastal courses. As a links course in northern Scotland, it presents challenging conditions typical of the region's windswept terrain and natural undulations. The course welcomes visitors year-round, with various tee time reservations for member competitions throughout the week. Wick Golf Club remains a notable regional course, reflecting both historical significance in Scottish golf architecture and the design principles established by one of the game's influential figures in course development.
