Ben Geren Golf Course is a 27-hole public course located in Fort Smith, Arkansas, occupying 285 acres within the larger 1,300-acre Ben Geren Park. The course consists of three nine-hole layouts: the Magnolia and Willow nines, which opened in 1972, and the Silo nine, added in 1995 and designed by architect Jeff Brauer. The course features MiniVerde ultradwarf bermudagrass greens with bermudagrass tees and fairways, complemented by native tall grass prairie throughout the property. Set in gently rolling terrain in southeastern Fort Smith, Ben Geren offers a unique playing experience with native wildflowers, grasses, and wildlife visible throughout. The prairie setting provides an distinctive aesthetic suitable for both experienced and beginner golfers. The park itself developed from land made available by Fort Chaffee Military Reservation in 1966, with the original clubhouse constructed with assistance from the U.S. Bureau of Outdoor Recreation. The course is named after Ben Geren, the Sebastian County Judge during the park's development.
