The 42nd Highgate Scratch Open (Martin Yates Trophy) is a 36-hole individual strokeplay competition for men, held at Highgate Golf Club on Friday 17th July 2026. Open to all male golfers with an active WHS handicap of 10.0 or lower on the date of entry. Entries are limited to 66 players, with a signup deadline of 11:59 pm on 12th July 2026. The entry fee is £60 per player. A guaranteed prize fund is available should the minimum entry of 60 players be reached: 1st Prize £700, 2nd Prize £350, 3rd Prize £175, Best Senior (over 55) £100, Best AM Round £100, Best PM Round £100, and Best Nett Result £100. One prize per person. The winner is presented with the Martin Yates Trophy. Ties for the overall title are decided by a sudden-death play-off on the 18th hole; all other ties are resolved by count-back over the last 18, 9, 6, and 3 holes. Handicap allowance is full handicap. Notice of the draw and starting times is sent to competitors and posted on the website in the week before the event. If entries are oversubscribed, a ballot will be held.
