St Mellion Estate, formerly St Mellion International Resort, is located in the parish of St Mellion, near Saltash, in east Cornwall. The resort offers 36 holes of Championship standard golf comprising two courses. The Nicklaus Signature Course opened for play in 1988 and is amongst the finest golf courses in Europe, and was the first European golf course personally designed by Jack Nicklaus. This course is par 72 and measures 7010 yards. The Kernow Course, which opened in 1976, was quickly included on the European Tour and hosted the Benson & Hedges International Open and the Tournament Players Championship. The Kernow Course is par 70 and measures 6000 yards. The Nicklaus Course features unique water hazards, craftily placed bunkers, and Nicklaus created his own version of Amen Corner with holes 10, 11 and 12. The Kernow Course with its wide fairways and big greens was included in the Top 5 'Second Courses' in the UK's best 36-hole golf courses. St Mellion has hosted the Benson & Hedges International Open on the European Tour on 7 occasions, and has twice hosted the English Seniors Open on the European Senior Tour.
