Built in 1938 by Robert Tyre Jones Sr., the course has deep historical roots in the community. Jones Sr. was the grandfather of legendary golfer Bobby Jones, who reportedly assisted in designing the course and played in its inaugural invitational tournament that year. The course remained under mill ownership before being purchased by its members, who have maintained it as a member-owned facility since that time. Set within the Canton Creek Valley landscape, the nine-hole layout offers a scenic setting typical of Georgia's terrain.
