Trochu Golf and Country Club

Alberta, Canada

Trochu Golf and Country Club is a nine-hole course in Trochu, Alberta, designed by Syd Pudicomb and opened in fall 1991. The course is built around a meandering creek through a natural coulee, creating uphill and downhill lies that challenge golfers of varying skill levels. Treed hillsides and brush feature on five or six holes, contributing to the scenic landscape. The par-4 second hole is noted as the most scenic, featuring an island green protected by a lagoon on the left, a creek in front and right, and sand bunkers on both sides. The signature challenge is the par-5 sixth hole at 413 yards, a narrow fairway with out-of-bounds on the left, trees on the right, and a creek directly below the elevated green with thick brush lining the creek bed. The course is recognized for maintaining some of Alberta's best greens and provides diverse playing conditions. The facility is home to the World's Largest Golf Tee, a notable landmark for visitors. The natural coulee setting offers both challenging play and scenic beauty, attracting golfers seeking varied terrain and well-maintained conditions.
