Brackenridge Park Golf Course

TX, United States

Brackenridge Park Golf Course, established in 1916, is a historic municipal course located just north of downtown San Antonio, near the San Antonio Zoo and cultural landmarks. Designed by renowned architect A.W. Tillinghast, the course was restored in 2008 to return it to Tillinghast's original layout. The 18-hole course plays to 6,243 yards from the blue tees with a par and slope rating of 129, offering multiple tee options for varying skill levels. Set within a city park along the San Antonio River, the course features Miniverde Ultradwarf Bermuda greens and TifSport Bermuda fairways. Its urban park setting provides an accessible, enjoyable experience for both locals and visitors. Brackenridge holds significant tournament history as the original home of The Texas Open (now the Valero Texas Open), the PGA Tour's third-oldest event, hosting champions including Byron Nelson, Sam Snead, and Jack Burke Jr. The course was inducted into the Texas Golf Hall of Fame's Historic Golf Courses registry in 1992 and now houses the Texas Golf Hall of Fame in its clubhouse, featuring the "Walk of Fame" and tournament trophy room.
