Newtonmore Golf Club is an 18-hole parkland course located in the Scottish Highlands village of Newtonmore, situated beside the River Spey within the Cairngorms National Park. The course measures 6,031 yards and plays to par 70, featuring a classic layout designed by renowned architect James Braid, who made improvements to the course following World War I. Originally established with nine holes in 1893, the course was extended to 18 holes in 1906. Set against a magnificent 360-degree backdrop of the Grampian and Monadliadh Mountains, the course is characterized by frequent changes in wind direction and subtle greens with easy-walking fairways that make clever use of the natural landscape. The layout is notable for its consistency in quality, with no single standout hole—instead, all holes command attention. The course is accessible and welcoming to golfers of all abilities, situated just a few miles south of Aviemore and easily reached from the A9. It features a rich variety of wildlife and wild flowers. Newtonmore Golf Club maintains a full calendar of open competitions and hosts a popular Golf Week in August. In 2024, the club registered as a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation with a focus on junior golf development.
