Dartmouth Golf And Country Club

Devon, England

Dartmouth Golf and Country Club comprises two courses set in 225 acres of rolling South Hams countryside near the historic town of Dartmouth. The Championship Course, an 18-hole par 72 layout stretching nearly 7,200 yards from the back tees, opened in 1992 and was designed by renowned British architect Jeremy Pern. The course features strategic tee positioning, meandering streams, 12 water features, and undulating greens that provide a challenging test for experienced golfers, though four tee boxes accommodate all skill levels. The complementary 9-hole Dartmouth Course, a par 33 layout of 2,252 yards with five par 3s, two par 4s, and two par 5s, maintains the same high standards with slightly more generous fairways and is designed for all abilities. Located four miles from Dartmouth in Devon's sheltered South Hams region, both courses make creative use of the undulating terrain and water features characteristic of the landscape. The Championship Course regularly features in UK top 100 rankings and has hosted the West Region PGA Championships on six occasions. The demanding course culminates in a memorable final hole—a 244-yard par 3 requiring a carry over water. The site also includes a professional shop with coaching facilities, practice areas, and 38 golf buggies available for hire, catering to the steep terrain between greens and tees.
