Nicklaus Golf Course

Cheshire, United Kingdom

The Nicklaus Course opened for play in July 1998, created by Jack Nicklaus and his son Steve. The course measures up to 7,045 yards from the back tees with five tees available on every hole, and is an 18 hole, par 72 parkland golf course. It is set in superb rolling parkland with majestic mature oak trees and trademark bunkering, mounding and water features. The double option holes of the 7th and the 15th offer a choice of fairways from which to approach the green. Described by Jack Nicklaus as the thinking man's golf course, the layout demands strategic play throughout. Located next to the onsite vineyard and offering beautiful views of the Welsh hills, the course leads around the front of the Cheshire country estate. Many strategic moves are required to avoid the hazards along the way. The finishing stretch includes play in front of the full hotel on the 17th. The Nicklaus course has hosted the PGA Seniors Tour on two occasions. It was quickly recognised by a leading golf magazine as one of the ten best new courses to have opened since 1996. The course remains a challenging parkland test suitable for golfers of varying abilities due to its multiple tee options.
