The BOSGC Veterans Open takes place at Barton on Sea Golf Club (Becton/Needles course, yellow tees) on Thursday 13th August 2026. The competition is an 18-hole Stableford event with a 95% handicap allowance. It is open to men and is intended for veteran (senior) golfers. The maximum field size is 138 players; the event frequently fills quickly and early entry is strongly advised. A reserve list is operated once the event is full. All entrants must be a member of an EGU-affiliated golf club and hold a current WHS Handicap — members of the England Golf Independent Golfer scheme are not eligible. Handicap certificates may be required at registration, and the competition counts as a handicap qualifier. Medical certificates may be required to use a buggy. Tee times are notified approximately 6–8 weeks before the event by email. To enter or join the reserve list, contact organiser Steve Golding at stevegolding@rocketmail.com or 07735368345. A downloadable entry form is also available on the club website.

Barton on Sea Golf Club

Hampshire, England

Barton-on-Sea Golf Club is a private members' club founded in 1897, situated on coastal cliffs on England's south coast between Christchurch, Dorset and Lymington, Hampshire. The course comprises 27 holes combining the original Harry Colt design from 1932 with newer holes designed by J. Hamilton Stutt, completed in 1992. The layout offers year-round playability due to superb drainage systems. The course is characterized by stunning coastal views overlooking the Isle of Wight and across Christchurch Bay toward Purbeck and Swanage. The setting provides an elevated clifftop experience with well-maintained greens and fairways. The club features three courses: Becton, Needles, and Stroller. Notable amenities include a driving range, coaching facilities, and a clubhouse with dining facilities. The course attracts both members and visitors, with reviews highlighting the excellent condition of the course, welcoming atmosphere, and spectacular scenery as defining features of the facility.
