The Coimbatore Golf Club is an 18-hole golf course located in Chettipalayam, Coimbatore District, Tamil Nadu. Founded in the 1970s by Mr. Rajagopal, the club began as a modest 9-hole course with browns and a driving range on leased land from Coimbatore Jail, evolving into a full championship facility.
The course stretches 6.376 kilometers and was developed through the dedication of local golf enthusiasts who learned golf course architecture through trial and error with limited resources. At the time of its expansion to 18 holes, it was notably one of only two courses in South India with greens, alongside Ootacamund Gymkhana Club.
The facility now includes an 18-hole championship course, driving range, and coaching facilities, alongside a full-featured clubhouse. The club maintains strict adherence to golfing principles and etiquette, notably prohibiting mobile phone use during play—a rule emphasized by its founder. The course operates daily from 6 AM to 10 PM, with Monday hours beginning at 2 PM, serving as a premier golfing destination in the region.
